answering device that also provided facsimile functions. The problem was that
the product was perceived as an over-priced answering machine. |

Solution: MASCO Marketing worked with the client’s
engineering department to reduce costs and add unique features. MASCO then
repositioned the product in the market as a “single number solution” for
SOHO workers. MASCO also suggested a variation of the product for commercial
application.
The Results: The client was able to secure first tier
mail order accounts. Sales sell- through was greatly increased. In addition, the
client obtained a commercial customer that sells to regional Bell companies.
